When it gets off balance, such as going too high, you can end up with an irregular heartbeat. When it goes too low, it can cause muscle problems, heart problems and extreme fatigue.
Your sodium levels are part of your electrolytes. When this is too low, it causes problems for your kidneys and your brain. Too much causes blood pressure problems and puts you at risk of a heart attack or stroke.
