The Best Way to Answer the Protein Question > Vegan Lifestyle

One of the things most vegans dread hearing is the question, “If you don’t eat meat, how in the world do you get enough protein?”

For some reason, the rest of the world seems to forget that there are such things as plant proteins. While they may at times seem to build more lean muscle, there are actually body builders who succeed on a vegan diet and look just as ripped as body builders who swear by eating a ton of meat.

If you are a vegan, there are hundreds of options for you to get protein. There are the recommended dosages of fruits and vegetables, and even some protein powders that can be incorporated easily into your diet on a daily basis.

However, a lot of people assume in advance that vegans are uppity and moralistic, and look down on anyone who doesn’t understand or follow their vegan lifestyle. So rather than meeting this question with annoyance, it can be helpful to try to maintain a patient and helpful approach to people who are trying to understand the way you live. Maybe they have considered a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle for themselves but simply don’t see how it is possible. if that is the case, then meeting their innocent inquiries with hostility can really dampen their spirits.

If somebody comes up and asks you how you get enough protein on a vegan diet, you can either be vague and say that you take supplements or eat the proper fruits or vegetables, or go into great detail. Soy protein is an option for vegans. Tofu, leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, and several other leafy greens can provide a regular source of protein to our bodies.

A lot of people are afraid of the things that they don’t understand, and because of this it can be very difficult for them to wrap their heads around new ideas. While it can be frustrating at times to meet the same questions over and over again, the protein question is one that can easily be met with patience. A lot of the time it is asked out of genuine concern. How can you possibly be healthy not eating meat?

We are programmed very early on to believe that meat is the best thing for us. We are promised to grow big and strong if we eat what is given to us without question. So if someone is asking you how you get their protein, sometimes what they are really asking is, “how can I be sure that you, as someone I care about, are as healthy as you should be based on this unconventional diet choice?”

If you meet the protein question with that attitude in mind, it may make it less frustrating to hear it on a regular basis. But if it still annoys you, another option is pasting on a smile and telling the person asking that your health is your concern and you are doing everything you need to do to maintain it. That might just be good enough.

Bug Out Bag Checklist > Survival & Preppers

When you want to be prepared for an emergency, it helps to have a bug out bag checklist. A bug out bag is a kit designed to help you evacuate and survive for at least three days. This can be the difference between survival and certain death. But it only works if you have the items you need.

The following items are recommended for a bug out bag to take care of your survival needs:

* Sturdy backpack to hold items
* Sleeping bag
* Plastic sheet
* Tent or tarp for shelter
* First aid kit – including nonprescription and prescription medications (a three day supply)
* Children’s medications (if applicable)
* Feminine hygiene items (if applicable)
* Baby wipes and diapers (if applicable, though baby wipes are useful for cleaning up for all ages)
* Change of clothing – including pants, a short sleeve shirt, a long sleeve shirt, socks, underwear, a jacket, work gloves
* Rain coat or poncho
* Emergency blanket
* Flashlights
* Camping lantern
* Batteries
* Candles
* Water-proof matches
* Flares
* Three day supply of food – such as granola bars, protein bars, trail mix, dried fruit, canned tuna, canned chicken, Vienna sausages, beef jerky, juice, candy, Meals Ready to Eat
* Three day supply of water – about four liters per person
* Can opener
* Utensils for eating
* Shovel
* Axe
* Knife
* Rope
* Duct tape
* Solar powered radio (with back up batteries)
* Toilet paper
* Hand sanitizer
* Soap
* Shampoo
* Dish soap
* Entertainment items – such as a deck of cards, knitting supplies, a book to read, paper, pen
* Personal documents – including legal documents, insurance policies, birth certificates, car titles, copies of prescriptions, etc.
* Cash – at least enough for three nights in a hotel
* Pet items – including food, water, cat litter, leash, bedding
* Other items as needed for children such as formula, pacifiers, bottles, etc.

Now that you’ve looked at this bug out bag checklist, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed. But it’s important to know that you don’t have to purchase all of this at once. If you can add a few items each week or month, you’ll eventually collect all you need.

When it comes to food, make sure you create a menu plan so that you know what you’ll eat each day. And every six months you’ll want to check expiration dates and replace food that’s near the end of its shelf life.

You’ll need to have a bug out bag for each member of your family. Even children are capable of carrying their own packs with some essentials. This helps them to feel more self-reliant and confident during an emergency.

Once you’ve collected these items, you’ll need to keep them in an area where you can easily access them in an emergency. A bug out bag checklist can help you to keep in mind what you have and what you still need to purchase as you prepare for survival needs.

The Positive Habits of Successful People > Successful Mindset

What do positive people have in common? Lots of things. And in fact, if you look at the most successful people across every different discipline, you’ll often find that they have more in common than they have differences. Top athletes have a lot more in common with top CEOs than you might expect and the same can be said for artists too.
And when we recognize these habits, we can often break them down and work backward to discover some of the most important traits and habits we need to adopt in order to join them. Here are some of those positive habits…

Self Development

On his podcast, author Tim Ferriss interviews some of the most successful people in the world ranging from actors, to singers, to athletes to programmers. One of the things that almost all of them surprisingly have in common is that they start their day with meditation. And of course a lot of them exercise too.

What does this tell us? It tells us that the successful mindset involves being willing to work on yourself and get better. When you do that, you have no limitations and you can keep on getting stronger and better!

Following a Passion

Another thing that you’ll find without exception when speaking with successful people is that they have one singular passion that they follow in every single aspect of their lives. You’ll be able to tell because they will start talking about it right away and their eyes will light up!

It makes sense too – because when we have a real passion, it gives us the drive, focus and determination to work harder and smarter than everyone else.

Breaking the Mold

Something else that all of the most successful people in the world share is the willingness to break the mold – to walk the path less trodden. This is how they discover opportunities that others miss but it’s also fundamentally what made them able to question their life’s path in the first place. Arnold Schwarzenegger was certainly unique for deciding he wanted to become a bodybuilder (he came from a small village in Austria). He certainly raised eyebrows when he moved to America. But he had the courage to know what he wanted and to go after it – even if it was a bit unusual.

Don’t be afraid to be you and to go the way you want to go. Rules are there to be broken – that’s why they’re called breakthroughs!

Affair Relationships – Be Clear On What You’re Doing Before You Start An Affair > Relationships

When a marriage hits the rocks, one of the easiest situations to find yourself in is having an affair! Relationships with people outside your marriage or long term relationship are often more appealing than staying faithful to spouses and partners. Affairs are new, exciting and a reminder that we are still vital and desired people. These are the compelling reasons why so many people find themselves having an affair. The downside of an affair only ever faced when things get out of hand.

If you are considering an affair, relationships are about to become difficult for you. Whether that relationship be your long-term one or for that matter, the affair you’re embarking on. You might think that your long-term relationship is bad now but just wait until your partner/spouse discovers you’ve been cheating on them.

Your spouse will feel betrayed, angry and devastated. Yes, the affair will devastate your marriage. Instead of turning to someone outside your relationship remember the promises you made. No marriage or relationship is without problems, the trick is to work at remaining focused and committed when these problems hit. So turn to your spouse or your partner instead of some seemingly appealing outsider.

Explain clearly to your spouse how you feel. Just because you are feeling this way about your relationship/marriage, it doesn’t mean it’s the same for your spouse/partner. They may very well have no idea you feel the relationship is in trouble, the only way you will know for sure is if you talk to them.

It is crucial that you both take the time to listen to each other. Avoid judging and criticizing each other, because this will not make either of you feel you can be open and honest about your feelings. If your spouse feels they are going to be mocked or criticized, then they will clam up. Equally so will you.

If you have already embarked upon an affair, then you need to weigh up what you want. Perhaps the marriage is well and truly over? You will only know this if you explore with honesty and sincerity how you feel. There is no good for either you or your partner in staying in a marriage/relationship that is just not working. If the relationship/marriage is toxic then the answer is to end it and with as little harm as possible.

Affair? Relationships? They both take time and effort and opting for an affair is not necessarily the easiest option you could take. Whatever you’re doing, and whoever you’re doing it with, there at least three sets of feelings involved. Your lover might be casual about what they’re doing in the beginning, but attachments are easily and quickly formed and before you know it, your lover could be putting all kinds of demands around what they want from you.

Think long and hard about the problems in your marriage/relationship. Is your relationship worth fighting for? If it is then you must do everything you can to avoid an affair! Relationships can be greatly rewarding and an affair can be deeply devastating.

Steps to Financial Freedom > Personal Finance

There are all kinds of things that can cause you to worry, but financial stress is one of the most common problems people face. When you’re worried about how you’re going to make ends meet, it can be tough to feel happy and fulfilled.

But there are specific steps you can take toward achieving freedom from financial bonds. It does take work, but the outcome is so rewarding you’ll realize it was worth any effort on your part.

Step 1: Get Real About Your Situation

When you’re overwhelmed by finances, you might have a tendency to put the bills in piles and just try to ignore them. But that only increases your anxiety and stress. Instead, you need to face the facts.

First you need to get out all the bills and see where you are. If you’re married, your spouse needs to get in on this, too. It’s important to make sure that you both are part of the process.

Financial strain is a leading cause of divorce, but by working together as a team you can strengthen your marriage as well as your financial future. Make a pact to sit down together on a regular basis to discuss the money.

You’ll have two different kinds of bills. The first will be the stuff you need to live each month such as rent/mortgage, utilities, gas, food, and insurance. The second is debt which includes loans, medical debt, and credit card debt.

For the monthly bills, it works well to make a monthly calendar and write down the amounts due on the appropriate dates. These bills are sometimes the same but can fluctuate.

For example, your electric bill may be higher in summer months when you use more air conditioning. So you’ll have to repeat this process each month as the new bills arrive. But in general you can get an idea of what your financial needs are each month.

Then make a list – by hand or in a spreadsheet – of your debts and debt payments. This can be an overwhelming process, but it’s a necessary one. And you really will feel better when you face the situation and really know what’s going on.

For now, plan to pay only the minimum payments on credit cards and debt until you get your expenditures under control. Later you can begin to pay down bigger amounts toward your balances.

Next, it’s time to take stock of your income. Write down any sources of income you have from jobs, child support, or any other income you receive. Then you need to compare your expenses to income.

Do you have enough coming in to meet your needs? Sometimes people do, but because they mismanage their money they don’t take care of the bills first. And if you don’t have enough to cover the expenses, it’s time to make hard choices.

Step 2: Write Down Every Penny You Spend

You should also begin to track your spending. Even if you spend 99 cents on an item, write it down. You might want to use a checkbook register or a small notebook to keep track of spending. Don’t let anything go without being recorded.

Do this for about a month and then review it. Do you see times you spent money that you really didn’t have to spend? Often you’ll find that you spend a lot of money on things like grabbing a soda at the gas station or getting an expensive cup of coffee regularly.

Go through with a highlighter and highlight any entries of money you spent that wasn’t absolutely necessary. That includes eating out, entertainment, gifts, drinks here and there, etc.

It doesn’t seem like much when you’re spending an extra dollar or two, but those little expenses add up. Looking at how you actually spend your money can help you to make better choices.

Once you’ve identified the areas of extra expenditures, make a plan to eliminate them. You may need to make changes such as packing your lunch, carrying a water bottle with you, getting a travel mug to take your coffee from home, making gifts, and look for free entertainment in your community.

Step 3: Increase Your Income or Reduce Your Expenses

The bottom line is that you need to bring in more money than you have going out. First, look at what expenses you can cut. Can you get rid of some luxury items such as cable and eating out?

There are usually ways that you can tighten your belt. Often people get into debt because they spend too much money on things that aren’t really necessary. Look at every expense – this is where the tracking comes in handy.

Often one of your largest bills is housing. Can you live in a less expensive place? It doesn’t have to be forever, but for a short time this sacrifice can help you to save money and get back on your feet.

Bartering is another way to lower expenses. Trading services with friends can help you to save money. For example, you could provide sewing services in exchange for a discount or free childcare. Look at your skills and needs and determine if there’s a bartering opportunity.

After eliminating extra expenses, if you still don’t have enough income you need to come up with a plan to increase your income. There are several options for trying to bring in more income – though this is a difficult thing to do sometimes.

Some ideas include:

* Taking on a second job
* Asking your current boss for more hours or a salary raise
* Get rid of clutter and have a yard sale
* Take on odd jobs such as cleaning, babysitting, or yard work
* Apply for jobs that pay more than your current one
* Earn money by using your hobbies. Do you sew, make products, or practice photography? Those can all be turned into side businesses.
* Rent a room out of your home
Anything you can do to bring in extra money is helpful. Once you get to a place where you’re bringing in more than is going out, you can begin to make further steps toward the financial freedom you’ve dreamed of having.

Step 4: Stop Using Credit Cards

It’s important to start saving money so that you won’t rely on credit cards to get you through when unexpected expenses arise – and they always do. It’s good to have about $1000 in a savings account that you can have as a cushion.

This money isn’t to pay for Christmas presents or luxury items. You’re not saving up for a new possession with this money. This is the money you’ll have when an unexpected car repair comes up or you have a medical need – true emergencies.

Other than that, you can just leave this money in an account and forget about it. But you won’t’ believe the peace of mind that will come from knowing if there’s a problem, you’ll have a backup.

Once you have that money saved, you can feel good about cutting up those credit cards. They’re too tempting walking around in your wallet all the time. You can be under the mistaken impression that they’re actual money when in fact, they’re the cause of financial bondage.

Cut up your credit cards and never look back. If you don’t have money to buy something, don’t buy it. This simple action will keep you from digging into deeper debt. While that may mean you don’t have as much “stuff”, remember that spending money you don’t have has led you to feelings of anxiety and even despair at times.

Step 5: Pay Down Your Debt

Up to now, you’ve been just getting a handle on your expenditures. You’ve been paying just the minimum payments on credit cards – but that won’t get you out of debt. While it’s good to be caught up, now you need to work toward getting out from under the debt that’s weighing you down.

Once you have a savings emergency fund and you’re not behind on the bills, you’re ready to put more toward your debt. There are two ways you can pay off debt. One is to arrange your credit cards and other debts in order of your interest rates.

With this system you’ll pay off the debt that has the highest interest rate first. In the end, you’ll be paying less because those interest rates are costing you more money than you might realize.

The other way to go is to order your debt from smallest to largest total amount. You’ll start by paying off the smallest one first. Once it’s paid off, you can put the money you were putting toward it to the next smallest card.

You’ll continue this system until you’ve paid off everything. You may pay more in interest this way, but there are psychological benefits to kissing entire credit cards goodbye.

Choose the system that works best for you. For most people, it works better to start with the smallest amounts and work your way up because you can actually see a big difference when you get to say goodbye to a bill forever.

Any time you get a little windfall of extra money, apply it toward the debt. Eventually you’ll find that the debt is completely gone and you’re ready to go on to the next step of planning your financial future.

Step 6: Save and Invest

Once all the debt is gone, it’s time to start building a solid financial foundation. This includes saving money and investing in your future so that when retirement comes knocking on your door, you’re ready for it.

Having a generous savings account also means that you’ll be prepared for any emergency that comes your way. You’ll feel secure if a spouse loses his or her job or if you want to add to your family.

You’ll also be able to finally start enjoying some luxuries in life. If you can pay cash for some of the things you want to do, you can enjoy vacations, eating out, and paying for entertainment or gifts.

However, you should be warned that you need to stick to a budget so that you don’t end up back in debt and having to repeat this entire process. When you continue to remain conscious of how you spend money, you’ll enjoy long-term financial freedom.

At this point, you’ll also want to meet with a financial planner who can help you to determine how best to invest your money and to set up a plan for your retirement years. When you have plenty of money in your retirement accounts, you’ll also feel the security of knowing your golden years will be comfortable.

Make sure to take care of your long-term needs once your debts are wiped out. Then vow never to get into debt again! By following these simple steps you can be completely free from debts – even a mortgage.

Short Term Sacrifice Leads to Long Term Freedom

In our modern world, it’s difficult to avoid debt. There’s always something to spend money on and you feel pressure to keep up with other people’s activities and possessions.

But when you get real about what you need versus what you want, you’ll find that you can actually meet your needs with far less money than you thought before. This understanding will help you to spend less and save more.

Having debt is like being a slave to bills. It can make you feel hopeless, helpless, and put you into a deep depression. And ignoring the problem will only make those negative feelings worse.

While you may dread the idea of facing your finances, that one step will open the door to having the true freedom you desire. And while it may be a little difficult and even painful to begin denying some of the wants you have, the outcome will be worth it.

When you’re sacrificing, it’s important to remember your end goal – true financial freedom. That goal can help you to keep going even when you’re starting to feel deprived.

Scrimping and saving can actually be fun if you have the right attitude. It can help you to be more creative about gift giving and activities as well as how you spend your free time. It will help your stress levels to go down and can improve your relationships. Financial freedom is about more than a healthy bank account – it can actually help you to be healthier and happier when you get real about what you need and take care of yourself and your family.

12 Disaster Survival Essentials > Survival & Preppers

Being prepared for a disaster emergency is essential for survival. If you’re just getting started with your survival preparation, it’s important to know the essentials. There are hundreds of items you can purchase to go in your survival storage, but there are some you absolutely must have.

In this report you’ll learn the most important survival items you can have. This is enough to help you get started. Once you’ve obtained these items, you can begin to add more and more to your survival cache.

Water > Water is the most important nutrient you can have. It’s important to have water stored that you can immediately drink. For survival, you’ll need one gallon of water per day per person.

It can be hard to store enough water for a long period of time because it takes up a lot of space. Store as much as you can and then make sure you have water purification tablets so that you can purify other sources of water.

Also consider that water is used for flushing toilets, brushing teeth, and bathing. It’s a good idea to have a separate water storage for these functions. Storing water in barrels outdoors can work well.

You just need to make sure that you have a barrel that’s food grade and free from BPA. You should also make sure that the barrel is clean inside. If you fill the barrel with tap water, there’s no need to purify the water because it’s already been chlorinated.

However, if you use another water source, you need to make sure that you treat it with chlorine. You should also make sure that if you need to drink water from a barrel, you heat it to at least 160? F for at least 30 minutes or 185?F for 3 minutes.

Nutrition >  Nutrition is critical to surviving in any disaster. You must have a supply of food. Most people begin with a 3-day supply of food and then increase the supply so that they eventually have a year of food stored.

There are many different ways to store food. Some people choose to buy prepackaged kits with all you need for a specific period of time. Others like to purchase MRE meals that are military style.

Still others prefer to choose foods that they would normally eat and rotate them throughout the year. It’s important that you try to store some things you know you like to eat. If you don’t like the food now, you won’t like it later.

Prepackaged kits and MREs are more expensive than putting together your own supply, but the convenience can be worth it. Make sure you try some of the foods before you order a large quantity to make sure you and your family like it.
Backpack >  A backpack is essential for storing a 3 day emergency kit. It will allow you to carry supplies for a long period of time. A backpack allows weight to be distributed evenly across your body and leaves your hands free for other things.

When buying a backpack, you want to get the highest quality you can afford. Purchasing a backpack with an aluminum frame will provide more weight distribution and support.

It’s also good to choose a backpack that has many external pockets to store items you need to get to quickly. It can also be helpful to have MOLLE loops. These are strong loops that allow you to clip equipment to the outside of your pack.

Many packs also come with a hydration system that includes a bladder and tubing so that you can drink while on the move. This is another feature that’s worth the added expense.

With a backpack, you shouldn’t cut cost corners. The investment you make will be worth it when you need a rugged pack that can stand up to difficult situations. Everyone in your family should have a backpack that’s appropriate for their size.

Lighting > In a disaster emergency one of the first things to go is power. You’ll need to have a source of light in order to survive. A flashlight with batteries is helpful, but batteries can drain and then you’re left without light again.

A good hand crank flashlight is a more reliable source of light that’s powered by you instead of external energy. You can also find hand crank flashlights with USB ports that can power your phone, tablet, and GPS unit.

A lantern is also helpful for lighting a larger area. You can find battery powered lanterns with LED lights that will last a long time. Kerosene lamps are also good for survival because they’ll burn for a long time with a small amount of fuel.

Fire Starter > The ability to start a fire is important in a disaster situation. Fires can provide warmth, light, and the ability to cook. But if you can’t get one started you’ll miss out on these benefits.

Waterproof matches are the least expensive way to go. You can dip matches in paraffin to keep them from getting wet and then store them in a watertight container with a strike strip.

You can also purchase a steel fire starter that comes with a magnesium rod and tool to scrape it that will start a spark and help you to light the fire. Solid fuel tablets made from hexamine that will help you to get a cooking fire going.

A camping stove is also a helpful item to have so that you can cook items from the food you’ve stored.
Weather Radio. During a weather emergency, a weather radio can help you to stay abreast of what’s happening in your area. You want to invest in a weather radio that can be powered by batteries, solar power and/or hand crank. This will allow you to get the news even when the power is down.

There are many units you can purchase that combine weather radio with AM/FM signal as well as a flashlight and phone charger. This all in one tool will be critical in a weather related emergency.

First Aid Kit >  A first aid kit can help you to take care of minor medical emergencies when it’s not easy to get to help. In a weather or disaster emergency, medical personnel get spread very thin.

It’s helpful to be able to handle cuts, scrapes, broken bones, and other emergencies while you’re waiting for professional care. You’ll want to make sure you also know how to use your first aid kit.

Taking first aid classes and having a first aid handbook with your kit is a lifesaving choice. You can order premade first aid kits from many disaster survival supply companies or you can put one together yourself.

It’s important to have a first aid kit at home and in the car so that you’re never without it. This is also a good place to store a supply of prescription medications if you require them.

If you can’t afford to buy all the first aid supplies you think you’ll need, start small and add a little each time you get paid. Eventually you’ll have a kit that can help in almost any medical emergency.

Map/GPS > If you’re forced to travel due to a disaster, having a way to navigate is critical. GPS systems are the most precise way to find your location and get directions. However, you may not be able to use a GPS system in an emergency.

If you have a GPS system, make sure that you have way to charge it. But also have a backup plan. An old-fashioned map is very valuable in a disaster. Keep a map of your area in a water tight bag so that you can find your way if need be.

Also take the time to look at a variety of evacuation routes and mark them on your map so that when you’re in the middle of an emergency you won’t have to spend time thinking about where to go.

Multi-Tool > Having a multi-tool in your disaster supplies allows you to have many tools in a small space. A full-size multi-tool will contain items such as:

* Pliers
* wire cutters
* knives
* saw
* file
* screwdrivers
* can opener.

This tool will keep you from having to store individual tools that perform the same function. This can be placed in your backpack and used for an evacuation and you’ll find it to be very useful.

Don’t skimp on cost with a multi-tool. You want a high quality tool that isn’t going to break the first time you use it. Expect to pay around a hundred dollars for a high quality tool that meets all of your needs.

Shelter > Shelter will be essential during a disaster. There are different types of shelter to consider depending on your needs and your geographic location. Many people want to have a permanent structure that will protect them from tornadoes as well as chemical or nuclear fallout.

An underground shelter made of steel or concrete is optimum. You can expect to invest thousands of dollars to create such a shelter. If that’s not an option for you, there are some measures you can take that will help you to stay safer.

In the event of some sort of air contamination, it’s important that you have thick plastic sheeting and duct tape. These items can be used to seal off a room or an entire area of your home so that you can avoid coming in contact with dangerous chemicals.

For a tornado, you can preselect an area of your home that’s as below ground as possible and without windows. If you don’t have an area like that, a bathroom on the lowest floor of your home is your best bet.

You should also think about having shelter should you have to evacuate. A tent that will accommodate all the members of your family is the simplest and easiest way to make sure that you have shelter from the elements.

Keep your tent with your emergency kit so that you can grab it and go in an emergency. After purchasing a tent, make sure that you have opened it and set it up so that you know you have all the parts. You may also need to add waterproofing if that hasn’t already been done.

You’ll be relieved during a disaster to know you have some sort of temporary shelter and that you know how to set it up.

Sanitation > Another key consideration during disaster survival is what to do with waste. Human waste can cause disease if not disposed of properly. The simplest way to handle waste is to have a 5 gallon bucket and trash bag liners.

You can use the bucket as a makeshift toilet and then dispose of the trash bags. You can also purchase camping toilets that are basically the same thing, but with a more comfortable design.

If you’re going to be camping outdoors for an extended period of time, building a latrine is a good way to manage sanitation. A latrine is basically a pit you dig that’s at least four feet long and one foot wide.

You’ll want to dig below ground about 6 inches. You can use sticks to create a place to sit when going to the restroom over the pit. After going to the bathroom, you can cover waste with soil to keep the odor from getting strong. When you leave the location, you can fill in the hole.

Protection from Sun > If you’re outdoors, the sun can be both your friend and your worst enemy. The sun can help you to stay warm, can be used for a solar oven, and will light your way. But it can also cause your skin to burn and dehydrate your body.

It’s essential that your emergency supplies contain sun protection supplies. This includes sunscreen as well as a wide brimmed hat. Remember that even during the winter you can experience sun damage.

If you’re out in the sun, make sure you have adequate drinking water to replace fluids that are being lost. You should also make sure that you have long sleeve clothing and long pants to protect you from the sun’s rays.

Start Building Your Survival Stores

Now that you know the most essential items you need for survival, it’s time to start adding them to your survival storage. Most people can’t afford to purchase everything at once. But what you can do is create a plan to purchase a little at a time.

Set aside a specific amount of money in your budget each month and buy what you can until you have everything you need. Start by making sure you have what you need for a 3 day survival kit, then add more and more.

How to Turn Negative Feedback Into Positive Results > Successful Mindset

Having a success mindset means taking risks and it means putting yourself out there. It means taking chances and being willing to fail.

And when you do all that, you’ll find that sometimes you do fail. Sometimes people laugh at you. Sometimes you lose a lot of money.

And this can hurt a lot. Sometimes, it feels as though you will never be successful and that other people seem to have it all figured out. But let’s take a step back for a moment.

Because most of the successful people you know and most of the successful people in the media were unsuccessful at some point. And they have been in exactly the same position as you – having tried and failed. The only difference between those people and the ones you never hear about, is that they got back up, they shrugged off the criticisms and they went for it anyway.

And if you dig a little deeper, nearly every ‘success story’ is actually made up of a thousand little failures, rejections and humiliations. Look at JK Rowling who had her book rejected countless times before it made her into one of the richest people on the planet. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger who was told that he could never be a movie star with his thick accent and physique. And yet.

The key to remember is that you’re at a point in your story where there’s challenge and upheaval but if you take this in your stride, it will actually make you stronger. When you receive criticisms from others, what do you do? Do you curl up in a ball and cry about it? Or do you decide that you’re going to learn from their critique and take it on board. Next time, they won’t be able to make that same criticism!

And when you fail and lose your money, do you give up on starting your own business? Or do you make a note of everything that you did wrong and then endeavor not to make those same mistakes again?

This is the difference between successful people and the rest of us. And look at it this way: if you treat every single failure as a chance to get better, then every single time you try, you will slightly increase your chances of winning big.
And that means that if you continue trying, the odds will eventually be stacked in your favor!

Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life > Personal Success

A lot of people claim they know the secret to success. They will claim it is motivation, ambitiousness, positivity, conscientiousness and all sorts of other abstract nouns. However they are missing the true vital ingredient, the real key that will get you started on the road to success to begin with: desire.

It Comes From Within

It is obvious really, but if you are going to be successful in any area of your life then you need to want to be successful. It does not matter how hard working you are, how much time you spend at work, but if you do not particularly want to climb to the top it just will not happen. Anything along these lines is a competition essentially, and if you do not truly desire success then you’ll still be going against a whole lot of people who do. You can not really have motivation without desire, but even if you could, where would you be directing that motivation? It is desire that will help you keep your eye on the prize and act as the motivator as you put in more time after work, or come up with complex plans on how to woo the guy/gal of your dreams. And the more you desire something the more you’ll work to get it. And as you do you’ll find that you subconsciously even help to navigate through the mire of challenges and that the world just kind of steps out of the way.

Of course not all desire will work. Firstly your desire needs to be realistic, and secondly your desire needs to be concrete. A desire to fly for example probably is only going to end with disappointment unless you are from Krypton, and a desire to ‘be more successful’ is an abstract aim that’s really quite subjective.

How to Find Your Desire

Some people though do not seem to have any desire at all however, and these people can be quite aimless in their lives. They aren’t going to progress because they do not know how they want to progress and they do not know what they want from life. The thing is though, everyone has something they want, it is just a matter of finding out what it is.

If you are struggling to know what your desire is, then think of your life now as it is. Now think of how it could be improved. Now think of how your life would look if you had everything the way you want it. That’s pretty desirable right? Maybe you have got a big house and kids, or a small house and great artistic job, or you are a movie star, or a high flying business man. Now you know what your desires are, write them down and break them down into smaller steps and priorities. Suddenly you have direction and motivation. Good luck!

Ten Tips to Set Your Mind for Success > Personal Success

Want to give your mind a kick up the backside and put it into 5th gear? These ten tips will help you shift your paradigm into a success mindset. Here goes…

1 View failure as a learning opportunity

Don’t view failure as a crushing defeat but rather as a chance to learn and to come back stronger!

2 View obstacles as challenges

Likewise, try to view problems as challenges to be overcome. This will just make your victory all the sweater.

3 Don’t choose between two things

When trying to choose between two things that you really want, the best answer is always to find a way that you can make them both happen.

4 Don’t let others define your success

Too many of us have one set view of what success looks like and we struggle to see it in any other way. Success is doing whatever it is that makes you happy. Don’t worry if that just so happens to make other people raise their eyebrows!

5 Invest in yourself

Investing in yourself is the most important way to start achieving more. This is the best way to spend money and the best way to spend time. Develop your skills, buy a suit and fix that hair!

6 Act like you’ve already won

Acting like you’ve already won is the best way to empower yourself to be stronger and more successful. When you do this, you give off an aura of success that makes others gravitate to you!

7 Know yourself

Know yourself and be honest about what you want, who you are and what your strengths and weaknesses are.

8 Avoid toxic people

Avoid the people in your life who are constantly telling you what you can’t do, who are making you feel bad about your dreams…

9 Surround yourself with positive people

Likewise, surround yourself with positive people and surround yourself with people who share your vision and can help it grow!

10 Do what you are most passionate about

The simplest way to be successful in life, is to put more effort it. That means being willing to get up earlier, to work harder and to work smarter toward that goal.

But this shouldn’t feel like work. Why? Because it should be something that you absolutely love. Spending your life working hard on something you don’t care about is a waste and when you find your passion, you’ll find it unlocks boundless energy and enthusiasm.

Easy Herb and Veggie Poach > Quick & Easy Egg Recipes

Most egg dishes are quick and easy enough for kitchen novices to prepare. And, to help you slim down, eggs are nutrient dense. They contain a good proportion of needed nutrients compared to their calorie count -; 75 in a Large egg. In addition to their high-quality protein and a wide assortment of other nutrients, eggs are good to excellent sources of choline (for memory development) and riboflavin (for producing energy). The lutein and zeaxanthin in egg yolks help reduce risk of blinding eye diseases.

Eggs are also one of the best buys among protein foods. To compare the price of eggs with those of other protein sources, keep in mind that a pound of Large eggs is two-thirds of a dozen. Since one egg equals one ounce of lean meat, you can use eggs to stretch more costly protein foods or all by themselves to provide a meal’s worth of protein.

Comforting for breakfast and handy for lunch, simple-to-prepare eggs are also a good dinner choice. Just pick a dish and, within minutes, you can serve a nutritious, inexpensive meal any time of day.
